Grammar

Verbs Like αρέσει: μου αρέσει, μου λείπεις

With αρέσω the thing you like is the subject, and the person who likes it is a short pronoun (μου, σου, του, της, μας, σας, τους) or σε + noun. So the verb agrees with the thing liked: - Μου αρέσει ο καφές (I like coffee) – one thing - Μου αρέσουν τα γλυκά (I like sweets) – several things - Μου αρέσει να διαβάζω (I like reading) – an activity counts as one thing - Past: άρεσε / άρεσαν - Μου αρέσεις (I like you) – 'you' is the subject λείπω works the same way: μου λείπεις (I miss you), μου λείπει η Ελλάδα (I miss Greece), past μου έλειπε (I missed). So do πάω (to suit: σου πάει), κάνω (to fit: δεν μου κάνει) and φτάνω (to be enough: μου φτάνει).
