Who, which, whose: relative pronouns
Relative pronouns join a clause to a noun, like English who, which and that. In Bulgarian they agree with that noun in gender and number: който (masculine), която (feminine), което (neuter), които (plural). The same word is used for people and for things: Жената, която говори... (The woman who is speaking...), Книгата, която ми даде... (The book you gave me...). Unlike English, where it is often dropped, it can never be left out, and a preposition always goes in front of it: в който, с които.
For whose, use чийто, чиято, чието, чиито. They agree with the thing owned, not with the owner: Мъжът, чиято кола е отвън... (The man whose car is outside...). The relative clause is always set off with commas.
Examples

- Имам приятелка, която живее в Рим.
- Ресторантът, в който вечеряхме, е наблизо.
- Певецът, чиито песни обичам, идва в София.
