Stare + Gerundio
In Italian, the gerund is formed with the verb stare + the suffix -ando (for verbs on -are), or -endo (for verbs on -ere and -ire) to the verb stem and is invariant.
The gerund describes actions that are happening at the moment.
Luca sta guardando la TV. = Luca is watching TV right now.
Lucia e Giovanni stanno parlando = Lucia and Giovanni are talking right now.
Noi stiamo viaggiando in treno. = We are traveling by train right now.
