Full and Short Article

The rule is pretty simple, yet it is being messed up by people of all ages - from primary school students to retirees.

Full Article Rule: If we can replace the word in the sentence with "той," it is considered to be Full Article.

Full Article means that we add "ът" or "ят" to the end of the word.

Short Article Rule: In every other case, the Short Article is used.

Short Article means that we add "а" or "я" to the end of the word.

Tip: Another way to check if the word should be with Full or Short Article is to check if the word you're thinking of giving a Full Article is a subject in the sentence a.k.a. if this same word is responsible and is making the action.

Note: Full and Short Article is not recommended for beginners.
