Îmi place, îmi plac, mă doare
With a few common verbs, a pronoun shows the person and the thing is the grammatical subject. So the verb agrees with the thing, not with the person.
- a plăcea: Îmi place cafeaua (I like coffee), Îmi plac florile (I like flowers). Before să + verb it is always place: Îmi place să citesc.
- a durea: Mă doare capul (My head hurts), Mă dor picioarele (My feet hurt).
- a lipsi: Îmi lipsește casa, Îmi lipsesc prietenii (I miss my friends).
- a sta bine: Îți stă bine rochia, Îți stau bine ochelarii (The glasses suit you).
- a conveni: Îmi convine ora, Nu-mi convin condițiile.
a interesa and a enerva have the same form in the singular and the plural: Mă interesează istoria, Mă enervează zgomotele.
