Imperative mood or l'impératif is a mood that expresses a direct command or a request.

In French there are only 3 forms of the verbs in the imperative mood:
• 2nd person singular (you / tu)
• 2nd person plural (you / vous)
• 1st person plural (we / nous)

Forms:

~ For the verbs of 2nd (-ir verbs) and 3rd (-re verbs) groups the imperative mood is exactly the same as the forms of verbs in the présent tense.

~ For the verbs of 1st group (-er verbs) + aller and for the verbs of the 3rd group that end in -vrir / -frir, plural forms (nous, vous) in the imperative mood are the same as the present tense of these verbs.

However, in the singular form (you / tu) there is no -s at the end of a verb.
