Englisch (UK) · Präpositionen
Verb + Präposition
Viele Verben brauchen vor ihrem Objekt eine feste Präposition. Sie unterscheidet sich oft von anderen Sprachen, also lerne Verb und Präposition zusammen:
- on: depend on, rely on, insist on, concentrate on, spend (money) on
- for: wait for, pay for, ask for, apply for, thank someone for, apologise for, search for
- to: listen to, belong to, write to, reply to, happen to
- at: look at, laugh at, smile at
- in: believe in, succeed in
- with: agree with (mit einer Person)
- of: consist of, remind someone of
- about: care about, worry about
In Fragen bleibt die Präposition beim Verb und wandert oft ans Ende: Who are you waiting for? Nach der Präposition steht das Verb im -ing: He insisted on paying. Sage depend on, niemals depend of.
Beispiele
- It depends on the price.
- We're waiting for a taxi.
