Englisch (UK) · Passiv

Passiv in Präsens und Präteritum

Verwende das Passiv, wenn die Handlung wichtiger ist als die Person, die sie ausführt, oder wenn du nicht weißt, wer es getan hat. Es wird gebildet mit be + Partizip Perfekt:

  • Präsens: is/are + Partizip (English is spoken here.)
  • Präteritum: was/were + Partizip (The castle was built in 1350.)

Benutze is/was für eine Sache und are/were für mehrere. Wörter wie today, now und every year deuten auf Präsens hin; ein Datum, last night oder ago deuten auf Präteritum hin. Viele Partizipien sind unregelmäßig: made, sold, written, built, caught, taught, found. Um zu sagen, wer die Handlung ausgeführt hat, füge by hinzu: The Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci.

Beispiele

  • Cheese is made from milk.
  • Our rooms are cleaned every day.
  • The children were taken to school by bus.
  • Was your car stolen last night?
  • This song was written in 1965.
