This, That, These, Those
This, that, these und those zeigen auf Dinge. Wähle das Wort, indem du zwei Fragen stellst: ist es nah oder fern, und ist es eine Sache oder mehrere?
- this – eine Sache in deiner Nähe (hier, in deiner Hand): this book
- these – mehrere Sachen in deiner Nähe: these shoes
- that – eine Sache weiter weg von dir (dort drüben): that house
- those – mehrere Sachen weiter weg von dir: those mountains
Sie können vor einem Nomen stehen (this cup) oder allein stehen (This is my room). Verwende is nach this und that und are nach these und those. Wörter wie here, in my hand oder I'm wearing verweisen auf this/these; over there und in the distance verweisen auf that/those.
