Ort: in, on, at

Um zu sagen, wo sich etwas befindet, verwendet das Englische meist in, on und at:

  • in = innerhalb eines Raums oder Bereichs: in the kitchen, in the box, in my pocket, in the garden, in the sky, in the sea, in a town, in London. Auch in bed und in a photo.
  • on = berührt eine Oberfläche: on the table, on the wall, on the floor, on the ceiling, on the roof, on page 12. Man sagt auch on the bus, on the train und on the internet.
  • at = ein Punkt oder ein Ort, an dem etwas passiert: at the bus stop, at the door, at the entrance, at work, at home, eine Adresse (at 10 High Street), jemandes Zuhause oder Praxis (at my aunt's, at the dentist's), und at the top or bottom of something.

Tipp: Stell dir in als Behälter vor, on als Oberfläche und at als Punkt auf einer Karte.
