Subjekt- & Objektfragen

Wenn who, what, which oder how many nach dem Subjekt fragt (der Person oder Sache, die die Handlung ausführt), gibt es kein do, does oder did. Das Verb behält seine normale Form und Zeit: Who called you? (Jemand hat dich angerufen. Wer war es?)

Wenn das Fragewort nach dem Objekt fragt, benutze do/does/did + Subjekt + Grundform: Who did you call? (Du hast jemanden angerufen. Wer war es?)

  • Who lives next door? – Subjektfrage, kein do
  • Who do you live with? – Objektfrage, mit do
  • What happened? – immer eine Subjektfrage

Mische die beiden nicht: Who did call you? ist falsch. Zeitangaben bestimmen die Zeitform: last night, yesterday → Vergangenheit; usually, when you need help → Gegenwart.

Beispiele

  • Who lives next door?
  • Who do you live with?
  • What happened yesterday?
  • What did you buy?
  • Which film won the prize?
